Hospitality enters fully into the CEU metaverse
A few days ago the Hospitality service had the opportunity to make a guided and interactive visit to the Digital Transformation Laboratory of Universidad CEU San Pablo. The main objective was to learn how the three-dimensional virtual space is configured and to deepen in Spatial, the new tool with which we will work next year with international students. Read on and find out how Hospitality enters fully into the CEU metaverse.
When we talk about metaverse in education we refer to the application of online virtual environments to enhance educational processes and promote collaboration, interaction and immersive learning. This is a space where students and educators can interact and participate in educational activities in a similar way as they would in a physical environment.
In this guided tour, led by Javier Salinas, head of Digital Transformation at the University, and Sebastián González, the platform, its operation, key concepts and practical examples were presented. This allowed attendees to better understand how the educational process can be transformed through a digital playful environment.
Spatial lands in Hospitality
In this particular experience, by means of virtual reality glasses, it was possible to observe the appearance of different fictitious spaces where the classes would take place. In the same way, it provided the opportunity to live it in first person and to move through each of the scenarios. In addition, attendees were able to interact with other participants and explore a simulated learning environment with the Spatial tool.
Their first exposure to the academic scenario will be for the new group of Hospitality students through the online Spanish course. On this platform, professors will be able to teach their classes in an innovative way, capturing the attention of international students and facilitating learning. It is a new digital functionality that positions the University at the forefront of international education and highlights how Hospitality enters fully into the CEU metaverse.
